Primary elections often don’t get a good turnout, but I urge you to vote on (or before) May 25. Making a decision about the road and hospital levies may not be easy, but for me there is one easy choice: I wholeheartedly support Kathy Rinaldi for another term as county commissioner. You’ll find Kathy’s name on the Democratic primary ballot. Send her on to the general election so there will be a real choice between the Republican and Democratic candidates next November. It is rumored that valley Republicans plan to vote for her opponent in the Democratic Primary in order to knock Kathy out of the race before the General Election.
Ms. Rinaldi has the experience we need, having served in city and county government and as executive director of a non-profit. She has demonstrated thoughtfulness and creativity while leading our community in a positive direction in this post-boom economy. As a mother and small business owner, she understands the challenges facing families, employers and employees, and she values a good working relationship between the cities and the county. Furthermore, she represents the younger generation that is not often represented on our Board of County Commissioners.
Kathy Rinaldi is committed to quality education and local health care, smart land use planning, economic re-vitalization and a sense of community. Development of the new Comprehensive Plan launches this month, but, unfortunately, Kathy’s opponent in the primary election has expressed disdain for a new Comprehensive Plan. Kathy knows the importance of broad community input in creating an updated vision for Teton Valley’s future. With your vote, Kathy can continue working for us.
Please vote for Kathy Rinaldi!
